|FROM:||ACT PRO AND BUSINESS SERVICES|
|SUBJECT:||TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS DUE TO COVID19|
|DATE:||18TH MARCH 2020|
In a bid to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID19), the UAE Government Departments have made changes to the government processes. The following is confirmed, and we urge all to adhere to the UAE laws. Only official exceptions on processes should be followed.
MOHRE – MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCES.
The ministry has temporarily removed the option to type and submit offer letters from the TASHEEL systems.
We have submitted a grievance and request to reconsider to allow typing for the following
- employees who are inside the country currently holding visit visa,
- previously employed in a Free-zone and moving to an onshore company
- employees who want to put sponsored family members on hold to cancel and move to a new company.
Until MOHRE modifies this application or allow us to type new offer letters for people currently inside the country, we cannot proceed with new applications for the cases mentioned above.
It is possible to type:
- Transfer offer letter – the employee has held work permit that has been cancelled within the last 90 days, and that he/she has not exited the country after cancellation and remains inside the country.
- Relative work permits – An employee who is under the sponsorship of a family member.
- Temporary work permit / Part-time work permit
All Tawjeeh training sessions have been temporarily stopped. Please ensure you forward the signed contract to your admin for submission (this only applies to employees that has new/ renewal and has passed the pre-approval stage).
All Tawteen open days have been cancelled until further notice. Posting to be made online and interviews to be conducted at company or postponed until restrictions lift.
Thus far no serious restrictions, however there may be instances that biometric locations need to change without prior notice.
CAPITAL HEALTH, MOH AND DHA (GOVERNMENT MEDICAL TESTING CENTRES)
The authority now insists that on renewal an employee carries the original passport so they may inspect his/her travel history and enforce COVID19 protocol if necessary. We recommend that staff be given the necessary masks, gloves and sanitizer to carry with them as the centers can sometimes be quite crowded.
GDRFA – GENERAL DIRECORATE OF RECIDENCY AND FORREIGN AFFAIRS.
The authority will temporarily no longer issue new entry permits for people coming form outside the UAE, they have halted all visas on arrival.
Residents that are outside of the UAE will still be allowed to enter – however they must check before booking flights and entering the UAE as they may also be stopped based on their origin.
We strongly advise to try and avoid non-essential traveling that will result in leaving the UAE borders, as there is no assurance of re-entry should the situation escalate.
All unused entry permits have been cancelled regardless of when they were issued, to include tourist visas. The authority has yet to clarify if there will be a refund for these permits or if they will allow reactivation of some sort when the situation has cleared.
Although the restrictions keep changing, we will do our very best to support you and process the work as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding. If you have any further questions please contact your admin.
Please feel free to contact us if you still have any queries.
