UPDATED VISA EMIRATES ID PROCESS

A landmark change by the government of UAE came into effect on, April 11, 2022. The primary proof of residency will now be captured using Emirates ID, hence replacing UAE visa stickers on passports.

Emirates ID is a card issued by Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship. All UAE citizens and residents are legally obligated to apply for one. This ID should always be carried. The Emirates ID enables an individual to transact in government services with ease.   1. Typing of application

As per the revised regulations, there are some requirements for the photograph of the Emirates ID. These are the following:

    1.  It needs to be of high quality, coloured, and not older than 6 months
    2. It should have a size of 40 to 35 mm
    3. It should be on white background with natural facial expressions and not exaggerated
    4. The head position should be straight meaning not tilted, parallel to the photographic lens
    5. Eyes must be open toward the camera and without the use of coloured lenses. Glasses are acceptable as long as they do not obscure the eyes and do not reflect light.
    6. The dress code accepted is similar according to national dress or religious belief
    7. The resolution (pixels) must be at least 600 dpi without ink traces or shrinkage

As per the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, it is unlawful to seize the Emirates ID card of other people. Companies aren’t allowed to withhold the Emirates ID cards of their employees or their customers and visitors. They are only allowed to capture the personal data from the ID cards. Cardholders should refer the case to the judicial authorities In case of violations
